How does France, Spain, Belgium, Denmark and Sweden compare in terms of accepting American students with ease?
I am trying to figure out the differences in: Ease of acquiring an apartment, Enrolling in a University, Obtaining a student Visa, Working part-time, General feelings towards American students etc...... Thanks so much

I can help with Denmark and Sweden. As an undergrad student, you can do an exchange with your home university. Language isn't a requirement beforehand, but you will take Swedish or Danish classes while studying. If you want to do a degree program as an undergrad, it is a bit harder. You need to fulfill the language requirements first, which means proficiency equivalent to a Swedish/Danish university student (usually at least a year of full time study). You also need to meet entry requirements, which for most of Europe mean an extra year higher education study after high school. Masters and PhD programs are available (limited) in English, more often in science or technology fields, without the language requirement. Housing can be very difficult to find in major Swedish cities, and unless you have Swedish fluency, work will be even harder. It took me two years to find work in Sweden, and it wasn't from lack of trying. Most housing associations have a rental waiting list, which ranges 6 months to many years (Stockholm center is 20+ years). Students have more available housing, but there is also sometimes a waiting list for these flats, and you will need somewhere to live meanwhile. Apply early. I'm not sure how housing works in Denmark, but friends have said it is easier to find than in Sweden. You have to prove you have the funds for living costs and any fees, before you can get a visa. Basically, you need to be able to support yourself without work, because jobs aren't easy to find especially in a major city. There are many immigrants and young Swedes vying for the same work, most with language in their favor. You shouldn't receive any negative treatment as an American student, although you could face hiring discrimination as an immigrant (it doesn't matter where you are from, if it's outside Scandinavia).

Make a Venn diagram with three overlapping circles. That makes a total of 8 regions, that we will label B, BD, BDP, BP, D, DP, P, and X (for none). Then we have: Givens: 1. P + BP + DP + BDP = 41 2. D + BD + DP + BDP = 38 3. B + BD + BP + BDP = 51 4. BP = 18 5. D + BD = 29 6. P + BP + B = 43 7. BD + BP + DP + BDP = 46 8. X = 13 Conclusions: 9. DP + BDP = 9 (from 2 & 5) 10. P = 41 - 18 - 9 = 14 (from 1 & 4 & 9) 11. BD = 46 - 18 - 9 = 19 (from 7 & 4 & 9) That's what is asked, since BD = Belgium and Denmark but not Peru = 19 P.S. If you finish figuring out all the numbers, it turns out that B = 11 P = 14 D = 10 BD = 19 BP = 18 DP = 6 BDP = 3 Those numbers add up to 81. But 81 + 13 = 94. So either the total number of students is 94, or the number of students who haven't been to any of them is 11, not 13. So you either copied the problem incorrectly, or there is a mistake in the problem.

So I assume the answers you received last time were not to your liking? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AiiJu_HQhKAHPrQQM8b8MZ7sy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20080610202701AAYvlM0 As explained last time, in order to get into Germany, France or Belgium you will need a Schengen visa and your British student visa does not meet this requirement Regardless of the route if you travel officially (and not illegally as you previously suggested), your passport and visa will be checked and you will not be permitted to boat the Eurostar/Eurotunnel/ferry/airplane (those being the only routes to continental Europe from the UK). So get the visa sorted out first and then you can plan your mode of transportation

I just got back from one on june 30. they got your name from either a random students list or a teacher or someone like that. i went to canada even though they sent that letter abt europe, so you could go to europe or some other trip theyre offering. hotels werent that good when i went, mostly dorms. some of my friends had bugs in their rooms. if you go 2 canada, be advised that you will b at a tipi camp 4 two days, and idk where the showers are. i had 2 use baby wipes 2 wash up in the porta potties. the teachers can be mean. but, i made a lot of friends and had a really great time all in all.

They're extremely safe. I've been on two trips with them and it's extremely professional, they have staff in every country waiting on an emergency line and a 1 leader for every 10 students. Each hotel is at least 3 stars. I suggest going for it if you can!
