Does anyone know how long it takes the Catholic university of Leuven to send an offer to international student?
It's been more than two months ever since I applied to Katholieke Universeteit de Leuven, the most highly prestigious university in Belgium, and till this moment I haven't received any answer from them, they do not return E-mails if you ask about the status of your application as that's against their policy, you just have to be silent and wait. Any information would be highly appreciated.

Scholarship for Master Degree in Belgium?
Scholarship for Master Degree in Belgium?
I've been looking a lot and couldn't find it. By the way, I'm international student (Non-EU). I'm going for MFA - Master of Fine Art. I've found the university (with English teaching courses) in Belgium already but I haven't found a scholarship. And I need one to cover my tuition fees. If you know anything, please answer. Thanks.

The Rotary Club offers scholarships for students pursuing masters degrees abroad that cover tuition and fees. You need to get into contact w ur local rotary club to apply. These scholarships are very competitive, and if you are starting your courses next fall then u are a little too late to apply, so i would look into them for the following year. Also, keep in mind that as a graduate student you will be eligible for up to $20,500 in low-interest federal student loans, so if the scholarships don't work out you will still have a significant amount of loan money to fall back on.

You should bring about 100.00 per week so around 2500.00. It would be best to just leave it in your bank account and use your debit card to withdraw money as you need it. THat way it also comes out in Euros and mom and dad can add more money if oyu run out.

What study abroad programs are available for students that are 17 years of age in Belgium, France, or Spain?
My son is interested in studying abroad over the summer of 2010 in Western Europe for language studies in French or Spanish. So far, we have been unable to find any institutions that accept applicants under the age of 18. Does anyone have any recommendations?

What about an exchange program like YFU, AFS, EF, or NYU? I believe they all do summer exchanges aimed at high school kids (usually 15-18). There is Rotary too, but Rotary prefers year-long exchanges in most places. You can find all of those easily online and they are all good programs.

You could try Cactus languages - and explain the situation to them. I would expect the issues arises from them not wanting to take responsibility for him when he is not at lessons, but inmost cases they are able to find host families to accomodate the students. This is not only a good way for him to get aquainted with that Country's language and culture, but it is also cheaper than standard accomodation, and may get you around the issue of responsibility. Here's the link - http://www.tumbit.com/partners/cactus-worldwide-ltd-worldwide-language-courses.html
