My family just received an exchange student from Belgium. I am a very shy person and I'm having trouble talking to her. Do you have any advice?

There's nothing to be worried about. Relax and regard that exchange as fun and a new experience in your life. You have a unique opportunity to practise your pronunciation (probably French, right?). Trust me, I'm shy too, but during my exchange I could feel free. Even if you screw up, you may never meet again ;P
